This gym is huge, and has one of the largest free weight rooms in the bay area. Also, the large size makes the gym spacious enough so that I don't have others intruding in my personal space when I'm lifting. My one complaint is that though large, the free weight room can get cluttered during peak hours, and it takes some time to find what you're looking for.
I got my first taste of meat head hell when I walked into the free weights room here. The weights are in a separate room as the cardio, and as soon as I walked in, i was surrounded by about 20 guys, who all turned their eyes on me. I did maybe 2 sets and got the hell out of there.
The customer service here is horrible. It seems like all of the staff is under 30, and they are both clueless and rude. Whenever I have a simple question (ie. "What are your Thanksgiving hours", or "when will the men be done working in the locker room"), they get annoyed that I'm interupting their gossip time and just give me a "I don't know." Also, the place reeks. Which makes sense since the staff is probably too lazy to clean.
I usually go to this 24 Hour location (even though there are tons others in SJ) since it is generally clean, with not too bad of a wait for the machines, and this facility is larger than the rest. I also like that the people here don't really bother / stare at me when I work out here.
